Thomas's Summary

Tom serves as the CEO of Entelligent and is one of the co-founders. Tom has been a serial entrepreneur his entire professional life. He has co-founded 3 separate CleanTech and renewable energy companies, serving as CEO of two publicly traded companies, senior manager to the first CleanTech international venture capital fund, and chairman of a multi-generation private equity fund. Tom began his career working directly with Joan Bavaria, a pioneer of socially responsible investing and founder of Trillium Asset Management and Ceres, the nonprofit organization advocating for sustainability leadership. Following his work with Joan, Tom was the first acting director and founding board member of the Social Venture Network (SVN), a leading not-for-profit composed of a multitude of various business leaders who strive to create a more just and sustainable world. Throughout his career, Tom built the first coast to coast energy services company, built the first commercial wind farm in Brazil, developed the first carbon accounting methods accepted by the United Nations, put more than $400mm dollars into renewable energy projects worldwide, and co-founded and took public the first 100% exclusively renewable energy company, which was also the largest owner of carbon credits. Mr. Stoner is also a published author, contributing to such publications as MarketWatch, the Denver Post, Barron's, and CNBC. His book, úSmall Change, Big Gains: Reflections of an Energy Entrepreneur was published in 2013. He has also been a speaker, panelist, and guest lecturer at the National Academy of Science, USAID, TEDX, and University of Colorado, Boulder. Tom has been leading the Entelligent team since its foundation in 2015. Mr. Stoner holds a BA from Hampshire College and a Masters of Finance and Accounting from the London School of Economics. Tom lives in Boulder, Colorado with his wife and he loves hiking and opportunities to sail with friends.
