Nikiah's Summary

As a paramedic executive with over 19 years of experience, I am a visionary value-based health system and public policy strategist for resource-constrained environments. As a scholar-practitioner, my focus has primarily been on improving health care system design through effective public policy, governance, performance, and engagement by applying innovative approaches to both knowledge discovery and management that address health disparities and healthcare equity. I have a Bachelor's degree in Management, a Master's of Science in Computer Information Security. After initial doctoral coursework in the decision sciences, I am now seeking a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration. I am also a Fellow of the American College of Paramedic Executives and a Nationally Registered Paramedic licensed in Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado with previous experience in California and New Jersey. I have acquired unique programmatic expertise from working in diverse settings as a paramedic clinician, consultant, program manager, and executive. This experience allows me to expertly identify and successfully translate public policy and administrative issues for stakeholders and the public employees that serve them. Keeping current with paramedic practice has allowed me to incorporate issues facing paramedicine, our communities, patients, and the EMS industry with valuable boots on the ground perspective that can be lacking elsewhere.
