Dr. Kuhn is the Chief Technology Officer of Thompson School District (TSD). He is also the Northern Front Range Director for the Colorado Association of Leaders in Educational Technology. As leader of TSD's Innovative Technology Services (ITS) Division, he works in many areas such as network infrastructure, technical support, instruction applications, telecommunications, audio/visual systems, enterprise implementations, databases, and more. The vision of the ITS Department is “Empowering the TSD community to grow into the future with innovative technology today.” Dr. Kuhn fosters this vision through effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the district’ technology. He provides access, functionality, and applications that support and enhance teaching, learning, and student achievement. As a Google Certified Educator 2/Administrator and online PD developer, he has extensive staff development and instructional technology experience. And, as co-author of the 1st and 2nd editions of the ASCD book, Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works, he is steeped in digital solutions that transform the learning environment, deepen student understanding, and extend & apply learning opportunities. He has managed numerous projects for schools, districts, and states that have changed the odds for student success by combining the needs of the school system, adult learning theory, and blended learning methods to efficiently and successfully improve educator effectiveness. Examples of such projects include BYOD, personalized learning reform, blended/flipped instruction, and learning analytics.
