Julie Lerner is the Founder and CEO of PanXchange, a web-based trading and price discovery platform for physical commodities. PanXchange has the leading trading and benchmark pricing data in both the US hemp market and the 120 million-ton specialty sand market for US oil and gas extraction. Julie has two patents on the trading system and three pending. She is a regular contributor to media outlets such as the WSJ and Bloomberg and awards include the inaugural Forbes 5050 Women in Finance, Futures Industry Association Innovator and Denver Business Journal's inaugural class of Colorado's 12 Most Admired CEOs. She is on the Boards of CU's JP Morgan Commodity Center, the Hemp Industry Association and (begrudgingly), her homeowners association. Seeking opportunities for Board of Director seats of public companies. Other pursuits include skiing, poker and travel. Lerner has deep experience in regional and international agricultural and energy markets. Lerner began her career with Cargill, International in Geneva, Switzerland, and later moved on to be Cargill, Inc's Sr Latin American sugar trader. She has also worked in electricity markets for Sempra Energy Trading and in agricultural weather derivatives with XL Financial. Geographically, her area of expertise covers the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and East Africa. As Managing Director of Golden Seeds, an angel group focused on early-stage investments in women-owned ventures, Lerner provided entrepreneurs with strategic business advice and access to funding.
