As a physician I provide medical care for patients of all ages while leading multiple projects at the departmental, enterprise and state levels. Trained as a family physician, I directly care for my outpatient and hospitalized patients who are primarily comprised of the medically underserved populations of Denver. Within this role, I have been recognized many times for my quality and productivity. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine I teach medical knowledge and skills in multiple clinical arenas. Through my director-level roles I coordinate components of their education and directly oversee the clinical practices of medical residents and medical students. Within Denver Health I work closely with our medical staff to coordinate multiple enterprise-wide projects. As the Associate CMIO at Denver Health I helped coordinate the implementation of our medical software system, as well as pioneer the innovation that accompanied such a massive project. As one of the principle faces of technological medical innovation at Denver Health I coordinated much of the required change management while facilitating business strategy in executive-level committees. I apply this population health management expertise as a state leader in tobacco control where I manage a variety of state and system-level interventions around tobacco education and cessation through my work with Denver Public Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. In these roles, I regularly work with elected members of the Colorado Senate and House and have provided expert opinion on state legislation.
