Chris's Summary

I am a cybersecurity leader and innovator with a deep passion for helping companies, governments, and people defend themselves from cyber-related threats. In 2002, I co-founded LogRhythm, a leader in Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), User Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), Network Detection & Response (NDR), and Security Orchestration Automation & Response (SOAR). As LogRhythm’s CTO, I led the vision, design, and development of the LogRhythm platform and product line. Across my 17-year tenure, I also served as Chairman, Chief Product Officer, and SVP of Customer Care. Through my leadership and via an amazing team, LogRhythm pioneered the next generation of SIEM, earned the top spot in the Forrester Wave report for Security Analytics, and was a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader for seven consecutive years. I began my 27-year career in cybersecurity software and services at Price Waterhouse (PwC) where I served as a Senior Consultant in their emerging internet security practice where I developed an early Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) solution. I was recruited to Ernst and Young (EY) to help grow and differentiate their national cyber security practice. At EY, I led an R&D team that successfully introduced eSecurityOnline.com, a content portal and one of the industry’s first software-as-a-service (SaaS) vulnerability management products. I later joined Counterpane Internet Security, a pioneering managed security services provider (MSSP). There I led their threat intelligence team and served as a principle contributor in the design and development of their security operation centers. Immediately prior to co-founding LogRhythm, I held a product leadership role for the Dragon Intrusion Detection System. I consider myself a leader and expert in cyber security. I have authored numerous whitepapers and articles, been quoted by the media, spoken at conferences across the globe, and was a faculty member at the Institute for Applied Network Security. I am also the inventor of multiple patents relating to the field of SIEM and security analytics. I hold a B.S. in Accounting from Colorado State University and am an active supporter of CSU’s Institute for Entrepreneurship and their Hacking for Defense (H4D) program. I live in Boulder, Colorado where I enjoy an active life full of sports and adventure with my wife Elizabeth and our three sons.
